If you have dismissed Seoul, or South Korea as a viable incentive vacation spot, it might be worthwhile to think again! Our M.I.C.E team recently brought a group of 30 on a company appreciation trip to this incredible country that has undergone an image revamp recently, re-branding itself as a venue “Beyond K-Pop”.
A 2-hour KTX train ride, which runs every 10 to 30 minutes, will bring you to Daegu, also nicknamed “Apple City”. Daegu is the third largest city in South Korean and is also known as the city of textile fashion and beauty. This is also the town filled with many beautiful Korean ladies. Rumour has it that is due to the amount of apples that they consume!
For the Toyota Sales & Marketing Management Team, they had the unique opportunity to experience being a model for a day at Daekyung University. The group was randomly split into four smaller groups. Group 1 was sent off for a luxury hands on make-up session, Group 2 went to get their hair done in a traditional Korean style, while Groups 3 and 4 stayed behind to select and tried on the Hanbok, the Korean traditional costume. They were also taught how to model, do the catwalk and pose either like a lady or nobleman by the professionals. At the end of the two and a half hour session, they had to put on a special performance as a team and compete among the other teams to come up with an eventual winner!
The group thoroughly enjoyed themselves and had great fun watching fellow colleagues perform on stage. This was a once in a lifetime amazing experience for the group, especially to be dressed, made up and treated like a Korean Princess or Noblemen for a day!
Besides the fun activity, the group was also treated to a smorgasbord of Korean cuisines and lots of bonding time with the team.
“This amazing trip was especially crafted by the FCM MICE team and sits well within our budget. Our objective was clear right from the start – this would be an appreciation trip to reward our Sales & Marketing management team for their hard work in 2015 and to foster stronger bond among the team members. The activities and destination chosen have to be suitable for everyone from a Marketing Officer to the Vice President. While there were some challenges when we decided to change the dates of the trip, it all worked out with the strong support of our event planner, Chermaine. Our team had a blast at Daegu and Seoul, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves with the great food and hospitality received on the trip.”
